80 Weir Street Fire
February 7, 2012 On Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 22:30 the Glastonbury Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a possible barn fire on Weir Street.  Upon arrival, companies found the structure was fully involved with fire showing from all four sides of the structure. 

36 Hopewell Road Fire
January 16, 2012 On Monday, January 16, 2012 @ 20:26 the Glastonbury Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a possible fire in the basement on Hopewell Road.  Upon arrival, companies found fire on and within the exterior side wall of the apartment house.  The fire extended up the ouside wall to the roof of the building.  Companies opened up the wall and extnguished the fire.  The Glastonbury Fire Marshal's office is investigating.

The men and women of our department pride themselves in being one of the best-trained and equipped fire service organizations within the State of Connecticut.

While being a firefighter is presented with some challenges, over time you will gain experience in a range of areas, which includes fire behavior and suppression, numerous life saving rescue techniques, as well as fire prevention.

There is nothing more rewarding than helping your neighbor. It is an awesome feeling that only you can experience yourself first hand.
